History of the Virginia State Circle

The Virginia State Circle is currently investigating its own part in the
history into the Squires, both internal and external to the State.
We will make updates here as we find these dates, locations, and persons of
interest.
The only items known at present are as such:
- Virginia has sponsored Columbian Squires Circle since 1942, with the
Institution of Circle #0051 in Richmond.
- In approximately 1984, the State Circle disbanded due to lack of
membership. Its last State Chief Squire was Steve Kehoe.
- The State Circle was reestablished at the 1st Annual (modern)
Convention, 31 May 2008. Elections of Officers were held the next day, 01
June 2008.
- At the 126th Supreme Convention in August 2008, Virginia was
honored with two Supreme Awards for its Squires program: Top Percentage Net
Gain in Membership (64%!) and Top Percentage Net Gain in Circles (37%). See
the link
here.
- At the 2nd modern VA State Squires Convention, June 2009, a new crop of
State Officers were elected, headed by Sean McDonald, State Chief Squire.
Additionally, the VA State Council, KofC, recognized the Squire Roses State
Circle, led by State Chief Squire Rose Erica Moscoso.
